Annual Exhibition 2026
The Exhibition on May 9th was a success, with over 450 paying visitors accompanied by over 100 children enjoying the show. Thanks to all who attended and telling us what a good exhibition it was for variety of layouts, plenty of sales stands to capture their interest, and, of course, a well stocked snack bar.
For more information and some pictures of the layouts, refer to the Exhibitions page.
Next years’ Exhibition is in the planning stage to take place on Saturday 8th May, again at Queens’ School, Bushey.
Where we will be exhibiting this year: –
Lincolnsfield Open Days
The next Open Day is on Sunday 30th April and we always hope to have at least two layouts up and running to show to visitors. Volunteers are requested to add their names to the attendance sheet on the club notice board for availability to ‘man’ the clubhouse on the open days.
Spring exhibition in North Watford
We are taking part in the Model Railway Exhibition at Christchurch, St Alban’s Road, North Watford next Saturday 23rd May. On show will be our long-serving and recently refurbished Dudley Frey (N gauge with automatic signalling), and Jurassic Halt (with ‘live’ dinosaur!). We will also have a sales stand with some pre-used models, as-new accessories and some scenic materials.
Here are the details: –
Sat 23rd May, 10.00am to 4.00pm
Admission £3.00
“We are having a model railway exhibition – for fun
There will be a children’s layout that they can operate.
The organ will hopefully be played for a short sing-song of railway related songs. It is a Binns organ and is only one of two of its type still in original condition in Britain.
Christchurch was built to serve the local community of railway workers employed by the then London and North Western Railway. It has retained its’ railway connections and has a memorial to those local people that died in the Harrow disaster of 1952.
Come and have a look at this grand old building!”
Outside Exhibitions
Where we are going with or layouts is listed on the diary page.
‘Back to Basics’ sessions
These are aimed at beginners who want to broaden their knowledge but as there are a wide range of topics (such is our hobby) many members may like to attend 1 or 2 of the sessions.
The format will be in groups of 3-4 and will include a ‘have a go’ section where attendees can ‘get their hands dirty’. Sessions can be repeated if numbers interested exceed the small group size, so no one will miss out.
The following sessions are being arranged: –
Tuesday 16th June at 20.00
Wednesday 17th June at 11.00
Point motors
The sessions will cover: –
- Types of point motors
- Installation methods
- Point motor wiring
- Point types and frog wiring
Both will be in the snug and last for up to 1 hour.
Please can you let the Chairman know if you are interested in attending any of these sessions either by email or on Whatsapp.
